Public Health Preparedness

The Public Health Preparedness group provides services that support and enhance current public health preparedness needs and identifies and develops innovative training tools and services to advance public health preparedness and competency.

Public Health Preparedness staff also:

  • Develop public health competency models
  • Collaborate with the state and local health agencies, and their partners, to develop public health learning management systems
  • Provide training on learning management system administration
  • Develop online courses, training activities and assessment tools
  • Assist the public health community and its partners in identifying opportunities to develop innovative training tools
  • Assist CADE technical staff in their development, implementation and evaluation of innovative training tools using mobile phone technology, simulation game development and use of virtual worlds
  • Provide expertise on competency-based certification for public health administrators and emergency response coordinators
